Our Techniques

ProAdjuster NEW!!!!

The Pro-Adjuster combines traditional Chiropractic Knowledge with sophisticated computer technology to gently prod the body into alignment and facilitate proper spinal function. It works painlessly to identify and treat problems with the nervous system, which controls every bodily function.

Activator
The Activator Method uses a small, hand-held instrument called the Activator Adjusting Instrument to deliver a gentle impulse force to the spine with the goal of restoring motion to the targeted spinal vertebra or joint. It is a very low force technique and you do not hear the traditional "popping" noises. For more information go to https://www.activator.com .

The Thompson Technique
Developed by Dr. J. Clay Thompson, has evolved into a system of analysis and means of adjusting the spinal cord. The combination produces precise adjustment.

Trigger Point
The primary purpose of Trigger Point Therapy is to reduce the pain that results from hypersensitive muscles. Trigger points are identified by gently pressing on the surface of the skin, sensing the texture of the underlying muscle.

A trigger point is like a knot the size of a pea, buried deep in the muscle tissue. It is made up of lactic acid, a normal byproduct of muscular activity, which sometimes gets trapped in the muscle from physical, chemical or emotional stress.

Drop Table
This technique makes use of specialized drop-piece mechanisms in the table to assist in the adjustment. Individual cushions or "drop pieces" located along the table support each area of the spine until the thrust is given. Then, each drop-piece gently gives way, reducing the pressure needed to adjust a specific spinal segment.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is one of the key components of the system of traditional Chinese medicine. It is proposed that Acupuncture produces its effects by regulating the nervous system, thus aiding the activity of pain-killing biochemicals such as endorphins and immune system cells at specific sites in the body.

Just a little note to explain Dr. Handly's certification in Acupuncture since 2000, and is licensed by the Virginia Board of Medicine as a Physician that is allowed to do Acupuncture. He is a Fellow of the International Academy of Medical Acupuncture. (FIAMA). He underwent 200 hours of training and exams. This program in Acupuncture is specifically designed for physicians of all disciplines. Even though it is not intended as a full program in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), numerous concepts and procedures of TCM are discussed.  It specifically deals with ancient and modern concepts including theory, philosophy, history, diagnostic methods, and specific acupuncture techniques and practices.  The program incorporates procedures and techniques from a variety of countries including Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Southeast Asia as well as the People's Republic of China.  In addition, special emphasis is placed on the acupuncture point location of the major meridians, the fundamentals of acupuncture physiology, the concepts of the Five Elements, auriculotherapy, scalp acupuncture, and hand acupuncture. The program also focuses on specific needling techniques, electroacupuncture, and laser acupuncture along with precautions, complications, and contraindications of an acupuncture practice. Clinical competence, safety to the public, and academic excellence are paramount.

Dry Needling

Dry needling is very similar to Acupuncture as the same type of needles are used to achieve the desired effect. Dry needling is also known as myofascial trigger point therapy. It involves the use of solid filiform needles for the therapy of muscle pain, including pain related to myofascial pain syndrome.  A minimum of 50 hours of face-to-face IMS/Dry needling course study, online study is not considered appropriate training.

Alpha-Gal SAAT Treatment (NEW)

Soliman Auricular Allergy Treatment ( SAAT), is a simple technique using only one needle and
requiring only one treatment PER sensitivity. This proven technique provides the strongest relief from Alpha-Gal symptoms among Acupuncture treatments.
