Your First Visit

If you're a first-time visitor at Handly Chiropractic & Wellness, you'll need to give us some information about your background, medical history and the nature of your condition. This is so that we can provide the best possible care, tailored to your specific circumstances. You WILL BE TREATED THE FIRST DAY.

A bit of paperwork

You will need to fill out forms that provide general information about you and your condition. Our staff is happy to assist you with the paperwork.

During your first consultation with the doctor, you'll discuss any health-related issues and concerns. You will also learn about potential treatment options. This will be the time to ask questions and we will determine if this is a Chiropractic case. If you are referred out to a specialist, there will be no charge for this consultation.

History and examination
In order to pinpoint the problem, the doctor will ask you a number of questions related to your condition. A variety of targeted tests will be performed to determine which tissues are affected and to what extent. The fee for this varies from $50 - $135 depending on the severity of your case.

Your specific condition may require us to refer out for x-rays to either rule out more serious conditions or assist us in assessing the most effective treatment plan for you. We do not x-ray on site.

Same-day treatment
Patients will generally undergo their first treatment on their first visit after the examination. This may include spinal adjustments and physical therapy modalities.

Home instructions
Before leaving, you will be given instructions on certain activities or procedures to be conducted at home. This may include ice or heat applications, avoidance of certain activities or positions, as well as home exercises.

Scheduling the next appointment

Regular treatment is essential to the process. We work our treatments around your schedule. Generally speaking, patients are seen within 1-2 days of their initial visit and are provided with a complete review of findings. Treatment options for your condition will also be discussed at this time.
